                                The Pros and Cons of Playing Overwatch 2 and Marvel Rivals

Hey, how's it going? Today I would like to talk about the pros and cons of playing Overwatch and Marvel Rivals. I have been a dedicated player for both games and enjoy them both. But I will have to admit, as fun as these game are, there are some cons about the games. I will mention, that this blog is not stating what game is better, as I personally think that both games as equally fun. So I will dive right into it

Overwatch Pros

I think there are many pros to playing Overwatch. Overwatch has lots of game modes including their newest mode, Overwatch Stadium which is 3rd person style pvp, which allows you to mod your heroes. Another pro is how many characters there are. Overwatch has lots of awesome characters including some annoying ones, but we will get to that in a minute. One of the latest things that Overwatch has added was loot boxes, which was a thing that players were able to get in the first game. Loot boxes are basically random gift boxes, that can give you skins, emotes, and other cosmetics. You can earn them by doing weekly challenges or obtain them through the battle past. I think another pro is that when I'm playing ranked matches I have a wide variety of characters to choose from, in case someone takes one of my mains. One of the other newest things they added in the game is Perks, which can give characters other ways to use their abilities. I personally found this awesome, because it gives other heroes buffs that make them more playable. I am also a big fan of there characters lore's, the amount of story they put into them, really makes the characters more fun to play as. I could be listing many pros for Overwatch but we still have Marvel Rivals to do.

Marvel Rivals Pros

The Pros of playing Marvel Rivals, is I think you can enjoy the characters more. Meaning if you have watched the movies, Tv shows or even read the comic. I can give an example, Peni Parker is one of my favorite characters. I liked her from Spiderman into the Spider verse movie, and getting to play as her, made this game more enjoyable. Another pro is the way they do their skins, the skins could represent another character, like Mr. Knight or Agent Venom which are skins in the game. And I think this is cool, because they really don’t need to make a whole new character, if that character does the same thing as them. Also getting those skins are not as hard to obtain, Units are one Marvel Rivals in game currency, that you are able to earn by doing challenges, characters quests, events, and even earning them through the battle past. I also like how you can pay for them, getting lattice, which is another currency that you can convert for units, that can be bought for a dollar for 100. So if your feeling a little short, you can spend a dollar or two so you can reach the amount for your skin. As I mentioned before, this game is always fun when I am playing with my cousin and brother, which is a definite pro for me. I also like that you are able to ban certain heroes in ranked match, because there are really annoying heroes to deal with, hint hint Iron Fist.    

Overwatch Cons

I would say, some of the cons of playing Overwatch is getting new skins for newer characters.  A Lot of the skins in Overwatch feels like you need to pay for them. And I understand that Overwatch needs to make their money somehow, but to make their skins really expensive is kind of outrageous. The Overwatch coins you are able to obtain for free are limited, and the only way you can get them for free is by playing the battle past, which gives about 600 coins. That's not bad, but some of the skins cost like 2000 to 3000 coins, which means your saving a lot for them. And I think in the end, it's not really worth it, when you can get some skins through the battle past. Another one, is how they make their tanks way overpowered. Yes, I'm looking at you Roadhog and Mauga spammers, but there are more characters like that and they just feel overpowered. And they make the game unfun sometimes, especially the Roadhog spammers. When I see this character on the enemy team, it's like ”welp there goes my fun” and I'm trying to figure how I'm going to kill this character and the other enemy team. This is more of a personal con, but I think it's a con when they switch out team deathmatch every other day. I know I could just wait for the next day, but I think team deathmatch should be accessible all the time. That's really the cons I could think about for Overwatch.

Marvel Rivals Cons

There are really only a few cons I could think about, since Marvel Rivals is a new game in all. One of them being not enough game modes, I feel like there can be way more game modes in Marvel Rivals. And I get it's a new game, but to only have 4 modes, can feel boring sometimes, and they don't even have a team deathmatch, instead they conquest which like kill confirm. And there's only two of the game modes that are in Quick play or Ranked match. Also like Overwatch, there are also no skill characters like Iron Fist. This dude is always targeting my healers and he is such a pain to deal with. I also hate when everyone just Dps lock, like the minute I enter a game 3 people have already chosen Dps. I mean just to hope that someone else is going to heal or tank can be stressful. And to top that off, they start to get mad at you if you don't tank or heal. "Like you chose Dps, go do damage". I mean people being toxic is just a con with any game. Another, is how some of their characters don't have enough abilities or their ultimate's just do nothing, some examples to this would Black Widow and Venom. Black Widow has the worst Ability kit out of all the heroes, she has like two abilities and they basically do nothing, like one of them just allows her to run faster and the other is one where she kicks the opponent and stuns them. To top that off she is a sniper, so why is she getting close to people so she can kick them. in the Marvel comics or movies Black Widow wrist gauntlet that shoots electrical bullets, so why is that not in her ability kit. Moving on, Now Venom has a great ability kit, he just has a bad ultimate. Venom “Feast of the Abyss” really does nothing, all it really does is deal more damage and gives you more health, just for the opposing Strategist to heal the whole team. So until Marvel Rivals can fix these characters flaws they will have to remain as cons for me.
