The Top 10 Most Annoying Legendary Pokémon to Battle
Hello fellow Pokémon trainers! Have you ever been in a battle and someone just used a full team of legendary Pokémon and found it really annoying to battle. Well I do, and I want to share my top 10 list of the most annoying legendary Pokémon to battle. I will also include mythic Pokémon as they are kind of close to legendary Pokémon. And remember, this is just all my opinion.
10. Xerneas
Xerneas was one of those Pokémon that was really annoying to battle back in its day, but as the Pokémon games came out with more Pokémon i felt like this Pokémon was not as strong as it used to be. Don't get me wrong, Xerneas was a power house with its geomancy set up. This boosted Xerneas Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed and once it did get the set up it was really hard to battle this Pokémon. So you're probably wondering why I put Xerneas down so low on this list. Well, it's because that set up is its downfall. Geomancy is a two turn move which means you are wasting turns on setting this Pokémon up. And sure, you could use the power herb item which would make the move use one less turn, but you're just wasting an item for that use. I feel like there is a lot of non legendary Pokémon that could counter this Pokémon. but still if Xerneas were to get its set up, no doubt it would sweep your team.
9. Darkrai
Darkrai is without a doubt the most annoying sleep mythical Pokémon on this list. If you're able to view this Pokémon on the opposing team, then you know that sleep spams are coming your way. Darkrai will use the move “Dark void" which would put your Pokémon to sleep and pair that with its Bad Dream ability; it really makes this Pokémon very difficult to fight against. The reason why I put this Pokémon 9 on my list is because Dark void has a 50% accuracy, which is a 50/50 chance of hitting your Pokémon. And the Bad Dream ability is only activated when the Pokémon is asleep. But don’t get me wrong Darkrai can be very annoying when it does put your Pokémon to sleep as it can use that to its advantage to set up or just attack you when your Pokémon are asleep.
8. Yveltal
7. Kyogre
Kyogre is seven on my list, and let me tell you why. Well ever since Pokémon Sword and Shield came out Kyogre lost its Primal Form, which made it more countable. On the other hand, when Primal Kyogre was on the battlefield you better hope you did not have any kind of fire type Pokémon, because they would meet their end. Primal Kyogre was a really threatening Pokémon as it has the ability Primordial Sea which can make Rain which will boost Water type moves by 50% and also render Fire type moves ineffective. It really was an annoying Pokémon to face, as it could fire off powerful moves like “Origin Pulse or Water Spout”. Kyogre could also use other moves like “Thunder" and “Ice beam" to counter any Water or Grass type Pokémon. And the only way you could counter this, is if you had Pokémon on your team with Dry Skin or Water Absorb abilities which makes them immune to Water type moves.
6. Mewtwo
We all know Mewtwo is a very powerful Pokémon but there are some more powerful legendary Pokémon on this list that are more annoying than him. Yes, Mewtwo has a really great move pool and great stats but there are some moves that could be made where Mewtwo can be put in a corner. But still this Pokémon can be very annoying as it can mega evolve two different forms. Mewtwo gets two mega forms X being Psychic/Fighting and Y still keeping the Psychic typing. What also makes this Pokémon very annoying is it has the move pool to counter my team since I mostly use Psychic type Pokémon. Even dark type Pokémon are really not safe with this Pokémon because it could spam high Fighting type moves like “Aura sphere” or “Focus blast”. I feel like the only way you counter Mewtwo is by using priority moves like “Shadow sneak” or “Sucker punch" because Mewtwo speed stats can out speed most Pokémon especially in its Mega Y form.
5.Arceus
Ah yes the Pokémon that basically shaped the universe Arceus. Now we are moving into the part of the list where these Legendary Pokémon don't really have any kind of flaws and they are hard to counter. Arceus is the only Pokémon with highest base stats in the Pokémon games. To top that, Arceus has the ability Multitype which means it can be any kind of type it wants as long as it's holding a type plate. So you can see how annoying it can be to fight this Pokémon not knowing what type Arceus is going to be. What also makes this Pokémon annoying is that Arceus has a signature move called Judgment which also goes with any type Arceus is. I mean, there really not much say about this Pokémon; its Arceus for Pete’s sake.
4. Marshadow
Sigh. Marshadow. Every time I see this Pokémon on the other team, I am like, Here we go again the stat stealer. Yes indeed, Marshadow is a stat stealer. Let me explain, all this Pokemon does is make your team a living hell. All this stupid little Pokemon is known for is stealing stats. The way it steals your stats is with the signature move called Spectral Thief where it steals the target's stat boost and then attacks. Yeah that's pretty annoying, to have your stats stolen and then used against you. To top this Pokémon off its Ghost/Fighting which is not too bad if this thing were not fast as hell and able to counter any type that can threaten it. Like, why did Pokémon have to create a mythical that can steal stat?.
3. Miraidon
Yeah Pokémon really knows how to make legendaries too powerful. Miraidon is one of the newest box art legendaries to enter the world of Pokémon, and they made this Pokémon deadly. Miraidon has the typing of Electric/Dragon which shares the same typing with Zekrom, another box art legendary that came from the Pokémon Black and White games. And sure, Zekrom can deal damage, but Miraidon stats and ability makes it more annoying to deal with. Miraidon’s signature ability “Hadron Engine” where it can create an Electric Terrain and then boost its Special attack stat. This Pokémon does not even need to use its signature move to be good, it can just keep spamming Parabolic Charge where it can drain Pokémon HP then recover from it. This Pokémon even got access to a Fairy Type move which is rare to see in Dragon types. Even though Miraidon does not have the best move pool, it can still wreak havoc on your team.
**Also before I continue with this list, I'm the guy who likes to use normal Pokémon in a battle like Mimikyu and Slowbro. I don't have any legendaries, nor will use any legendaries on my team. With that being said, I don’t hate on all legendaries, I actually find some of them really cool. But when people have to spam a full team of them it kind of ruins the fun of the game. And I'm not saying you should not have any legendaries on your team, just like keep it to a minimum. Anyhow, back to the list.
2. Groudon
Groudon. jeez -this one really ticks me off. like how bad you want to win. Let me just say this, if you gave Groudon to a 6 year old, that kid would sweep your team without any effort. And sure, Groudon base form is barely counterable. But, if you are using Primal Groudon then tell me you have little skill without telling me you have little skill. Ammi right? Out of the whole weather trio, Groudon is the most annoying, especially its Primal form. The Primal form’s ability “Desolate Lands" is like Kyogre ability “Primordial Sea", but worse. Instead of heavy rain, you get harsh sunlight - where it boosts Fire type moves and make where Water type moves have no effect. Did I forget to mention that Primal form gets Ground/Fire typing? That's a really hard type combo to counter when its ability makes it where Water type can't do anything to it.
1. Zacian
The no skill Pokémon Zacian. Look I know I said I don't hate on all legends, but this one i hate with a passion and with good reason. People who play this Pokémon generally have no skill. Like, you are just busted. Every time I see this Pokémon on someone's team, I know this battle is not going to be fun. I'm dead serious. Zacian drains any kind of fun that goes into a Pokémon battle. The typing for this legendary Fairy/Steel has to be one of the hardest dual typing to counter in the game. The amount of resistances it gets. plus it's only weak to two types Fire/Ground. Not to mention, that Zacian stats are insane; it has a high speed and attack which makes it impossible to land a hit. And don’t even get me started with its ability Intrepid Sword where it boosts its attack stat. Like why does it need a boost to its attack when the thing already has 150 attack stat? So if you have this Pokémon in your team, take it off. if this is your only legendary on your team still take it off, because it still does not take any skill to use this legend. Zacian just needs to stay in your PC.
